Seaquarium

I spent many years and many dollars chasing fish. From the docks in Santa Barbara Harbor to the beach in Carpenteria. From the High Sierras to The Chanel Islands and down to Mexico. I grew up mucking around in tide pools catching Octopus. Learned to cast a bait pretty well and eventually ended up on the half day boats out of San Pedro. Bass and Bonito and the occaisional Yellowtail at Catalina. Yellowfin Tuna at San Clemente and Bluefin Tuna at Tanner Bank.
I caught my all time best fish in Mexico on the Prowler. 72 lb. Bluefin Tuna on 30 lb test line took me 45 minutes to land. I was completely exhausted by this fish. While I was holding the fish up for a picture, I saw the color drain from it’s flesh and the light in her eye went dull. I thought of my dog at home. He’s about the same size as this fish I thought. That was the day I gave up fishing. I just couldn’t kill for fun anymore.

Seaquarium is my tribute to the sealife around Southern California that I love so much.
